We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Supervisor to join our team.
Must have extensive experience of Fabrication/Welding in a Structural Workshop.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Required to supervise welders and fabricators and assist with projects through to completion
Liaise daily with Projects Team/Management on daily work schedule
Study engineering drawings to determine material requirements and task sequences
Dimensional checks to be carried out on all jobs
Assist with maintenance of workshop machinery
Be familiar with, and carry out daily checks on workshop equipment: Band Saw, Overhead Crane, Pillar Drill, Press Brake and Guillotine
To implement management decisions and ensure flow of work is punctual at all times .
Ensure that a safe and healthy work environment exists by adhering to company health, safety and environment policies
Workshop housekeeping is well maintained
Ensure workshop timesheets are completed daily
All route card jobs are tagged for traceability
People Management
Take responsibility for supporting and advising workshop colleagues, coaching and mentoring of apprentices.
Ensure that all staff undertake their duties in compliance with company policies and procedures at all times.
Ensure employee competency skills are met to operate in-house machinery.
Communication Skills
Strong interpersonal skills, confident and respectful with people. The ability to give and receive feedback in a patient and constructive manner.
The ability to identify and apply the most appropriate approach to a range of situations that involve workshop staff, in order that effective working relationships are encouraged and maintained.
Organisational Skills
Well organised, calm and cheerful under pressure.
Able to work to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
Full-Time Permanent Position
Monday to Friday 8.00 am – 4.30 pm
Must Be Willing To Work Overtime
Rate of Pay Dependant on Experience/Qualifications
